Almac Group announces $5.2m expansion

In conjunction with its 20th year of business in North America, Almac Group has announced a $5.2m investment at its Durham, North Carolina facilities.

Almac currently employs more than 1,600 individuals across six facilities in the US, and expects to create nearly 80 new jobs as part of the expansion.

The investment will support expansion of the company’s Clinical Services facility as well as the development of its Diagnostics and Clinical Technologies operations.

As Outsourcing-Pharma.com previously reported, Almac Group’s Diagnostics Business Unit opened a companion diagnostic development facility earlier this year, giving the company a US base to support further growth.

The facility supports the company’s companion diagnostic (CDx) development partnerships and the downstream delivery of assays for patient testing.

Over the past few years, the company also announced expansions in Asia and acquisitions in the UK and Ireland as well as a new serialization solution in April of this year.
