German packaging company Bosch Packaging Technology will reveal a host of products at the upcoming exhibition on chemical engineering and biotechnology Achema 2003 to be held in Frankfurt, Germany in May this year. Brand new on the stand, filling and sealing machine FLC will be displayed for the first time.
According to the company, the machine, that operates continuously, fills liquid pharmaceuticals into injection vials and infusion bottles. It has a maximum output of 320 containers per minute and a fill volume of up to 500 millilitres in the medium output range.
In addition, the company will present its new generation of capsule filling machines. A main feature of the models GKF 701, GKF 1400 and GKF 2500 ASB 100 per cent is the dosing station on the slide-gate principle, which, claims the company, ensures low-loss processing, even for difficult powders. The machine is controlled by an industrial PC, using software which complies with the FDA 21 CFR part 11 federal regulation.
In response to the health-harming dust that occurs in all areas of pharmaceutical production Bosch has developed a containment system for its standard blister machine TLT 1400. The system, that produces 400 blisters per minute, protects the operator while processing toxic contents, claims the company.
Bosch will also show the new cartoner CUC which has an integrated bottle feed for a pharmaceutical filling machine. According to the company, the most important innovation of the CUC is its fully servomotor-driven product loading system. For all movement sequences of the loading system it has its own drive axes with which the parameters of the cartoning process can be set optimally to suit the products being packaged.
