Oden, a specialist in advanced liquid filling technology, has introduced its Mass/Blend Continuous Stream Digital Blending System, designed to eliminate problems associated with large batch preparation in large holding tanks.
The new system makes liquid products on demand in real time from liquid feed stocks, which the manufacturer says provides more compounding flexibility, faster product switchovers, shorter practical run capabilities, and better product quality. An extensive technical white paper is available on the product upon request.
Mass/Blend systems are available for pilot plant to production scale blending of liquid products and the technology can be utilised in every segment of the liquid products markets. The system architecture for the system design is simple, easy to programme, low in system volume, and free of error induced by process variables, the manufacturer claims. It uses a control methodology that is inherently rational, rather than one requiring complex control schemes to manage; and blending accuracy is not compromised by stop-start events.
The system is said to eliminate the need for large volume holding tanks and lengthy batch transfer times, resulting in an increased ability to quickly manufacture more product variants and to produce liquid products in short runs with fast changeover. The system operates with all types of liquids - low viscosity to high - with 0 to 400 GPM continuous stream capability.
It also features state-of-the-art PC/PLC based controls including graphic colour touch-screen interface and a choice of software programmes and statistical process control packages. Furthermore the system is said to automatically adapt to changes in takeaway flow rates without re-calibration or stream flow adjustment.
Oden custom designs and manufactures advanced technology liquid filling systems and continuous stream digital blending systems used in a wide variety of industries including pharmaceutical, food processing, personal care products and general industrial and petroleum.
