Amersham Biosciences has added a mouse genome product in its CodeLink Expression range. This CodeLink UniSet Mouse 20K I Bioarray enables scientists to study gene expression across much of the mouse genome in a single experiment, said the firm. The product is expected to be used for drug target identification, pathway characterisation and drug effect predictions.
The bioarray contains probes for over 20,000 mouse gene transcripts that are derived from publicly available, well-annotated mRNA sequences found in the UniGene and RefSeq databases, notes Amersham, which introduced the product this week at the 5th EMBL Mouse Molecular Genetics Meeting in Heidelberg, Germany.
"We are currently using the CodeLink mouse array for our drug target discovery work in diabetes and obesity," said Mark Braughler, senior vice president of business development at TissueInformatics, an early adopter of the bioarray.
Amersham's CodeLink bioarrays use a patented three-dimensional surface technology along with pre-screened and functionally validated 30mer full length oligo probes to provide reproducible, sensitive and reliable microarrays.
