The speakers have been announced for a conference on batch process automation and asset management in the pharmaceutical industry, scheduled to take place in Cork, Ireland, on 22-23 October.
Alan Shefflin of Pfizer's Cork-based facilities will talk about the company's automation experience, while Ole Abildgaard of Novo Nordisk Engineering in Denmark will explain the company's approach of using modular plant construction techniques for fast-track construction of pharma plants.
Cormac Callaghan of Bristol-Myers Squibb will discuss automation issues on a large scale green-field pharma project, and Wyeth's George Skillin will talk about automation at the company's Grange Castle facility. IPS Engineering's Aidan Harrington will give a presentation on project management in a changing regulatory environment.
The conference, called Manufacturing Excellence Ireland, is targeted at engineers and managers in the automation and control industry, from operators and technicians through to control system planning engineers, designers and plant managers.
