Natoli Engineering has launched a new software package designed to make designing tablets easier, quicker and more accurate. TabletCad is able to design any standard tablet shape as well as common special shapes, according to the firm.
The package can configure tablet designs by a variety of bisects, unlimited possibilities of cup configuration, scale tablets up or down by volume or dimension and calculate surface areas, density and weights.
TabletCad also produces high quality technical drawings on a postscript printer, and the user can also create custom embossed designs using standard fonts that are provided and will provide engraving cut details to scale. The programme runs on an MS-DOS or Microsoft Windows platform.
Meanwhile, Natoli has also introduced Buffy, an automatic punch polisher that eliminates the need to polish tablet punches by hand.
The system is easy to use; users must simply insert the punch into the polisher and push the start button. Natoli claims that use of Buffy will save time, money, produce consistent polishing results, reduce clean up process and increase the life of the tablet punch.
The unit is able to accommodate different punches of various shapes and is available in a benchtop or tabletop model. An optional two-station unit is also available, according to the firm.
