Nordic pharmaceutical company Pharmaco forges further into Northern Europe unveiling new sales activities in Sweden to cut into the growing generic pharmaceutical market there.
Pitched at € 2.8 billion the Swedish market has grown rapidly in recent years and currently totals € 334 per person. New legislation cleared by the government stimulated growth when rules regarding dispensing pharmaceutical products in Swedish pharmacies were changed in order to encourage their use.
According to Björn Adalsteinsson, area manager of marketing in the Nordic countries, any expansion into such a demanding market requires thorough planning and a dedicated team of employees who are prepared to work hard.
Heading up the team is Roger Tapper, the new managing director at Pharmaco's subsidiary in Sweden. Tapper, a pharmacist, was previously marketing director at the pharmaceutical company ratiopharm in Sweden.
