Millipore yesterday launched a range of accessories designed to improve the monitoring of the purity and quality of water generated with its Elix and RiOs systems.
The company notes that the distribution loop has an integrated monitoring capacity that can view optional components and can also improve the control and delivery of purified water for pharmaceutical applications.
A built-in total organic carbon (TOC) monitor measures organic contamination, says the company, and a conductivity and resistivity sensor determines the total ionic concentration of a solution. The company says that a pump is also available for various water pressure and flow rate requirements.
For bacteria-sensitive applications, water can be sanitised using an ultraviolet lamp the that prevents a build up-of biofilm, the bacterial proliferation on the inner surface of reservoirs.
The company says that the distribution loop is available for both Elix 20/35/70/100 and RiOs 30/50/100/150/200 models. The company says that these systems produce Types II and III laboratory-grade pure water.
Elix systems produce consistently-pure Type II, analytical-grade feedwater suitable for labs requiring distilled or deionised water, while RiOs systems produce up to 16 L/hr ofType III lab-grade water from potable tap water.
