InforSense launches Knowledge Discovery Environment

InforSense, a leading provider of software solutions for streamlining life science research informatics, has today launched the Knowledge Discovery Environment 1,9.

The company says that is designed to create, capture and manage valuable process knowledge in the high throughput discovery environment.

InforSense Knowledge Discovery Environment was formally known as Kensington Discovery Edition. The company claims that it is a powerful platform that is compliant with J2EE regulations and is suitable in industrial-scale informatics environments

Open Discovery Work Flow (TM) technology enables researchers to build reusable workflows that can integrate, mine and analyse and visualise information. It supports innovative discovery research, and captures research creativity as process knowledge, said the company in a statement this week.

This results in discovery productivity being enhanced by the execution of advanced, integrated, biological and chemical analyses, which incorporate all the required data sources, applications and algorithms.

The compaany claims that its new product enhances the ease-of-use and workflow animation and that wizards guide the incorporation of external components and the creation of complex workflows.

Workflow deployment easily turns workflows into web services or software components, and advanced control mechanisms, including loop and condition controls. The company states that this provides powerful automation capabilities.

Professor Yike Gue, CEO of InforSense commented,"We are quickly establishing our position as the informatics platform of choice for organisations who need to streamline discovery informatics from target to lead, from single users to entire discovery organisations."

"With the shift in pharmaceutical drug discovery from as-hoc research to systematic and automated science, capturing discovery workflow is key," added Daniel Passeri, president and CEO of Curis. InforSense provides a state-of the art software environment not only for incresaing productivity but also for developing a wealth of discovery IP for an organisation, he added.

InforSense has plans to develop the next-generation of discovery informatics platforms for individual reserachers, cross-function teams and discovery enterprises based on what it describes as its unique TM technology.
