Gentle microplate washing

Bio-Tek Instruments has launched a new microplate washer designed to have a gentler action to avoid interfering with the results of cell-based assays.

The ELx405 Select CW is targetted at researchers working with less robust cell-based assays, allowing the plates to be washed thoroughly between assay steps without losing cells due to overly vigorous flow rates. However, greater washing force can be applied for other applications, such as ELISA (enzyme linked immunosorbent assay).

The ELx405 Select CW is the latest-Tek's newest addition to its ELx405 series of microplate washers, designed to cope with a range of applications, including 96- and 384-well plates and assays using magnetic beads.

The product can be switched between 96- and 384- well microplates without any changes in hardware or software, while its compact footprint and robot accessible carrier make it suitable for use in automated systems, according to the company.
