Casepacker for drugs unveiled

Packaging machinery company Thiele Technologies has launched an automatic packer system that is specifically designed for use by the pharmaceutical and food industries.

The Z-PRO Casepacker is made of stainless steel and can be washed down in place, making it suitable for industries where aseptic processing is required. It is fully automatic and can produce three types of packaging: trays, pre-glued (RSC) end-load or side-load cases and wraparound cases, with a speed range of up to 18 cases or trays per minute.

All operations are performed in two or three stations on a single level. The full-length access doors enable the operator to view the total machinery functions and provide easy access for maintenance.

Dean Grell, Thiele product manager, said: "The combination of the clean design and stainless steel construction make this casepacker perfect for the pharmaceutical industry and can be used in USDA sanitary applications for food as well."

Thiele Technologies is a subsidiary of Barry-Wehmiller, which claims to be the leading packaging automation group in the Western Hemisphere.
