Grace expands chromatography business
International in a move that raises its standing in the manufacture
and supply of chromatography products even further.
This is WR Grace's fifth acquisition for the separations business. It acquired Germany's Grom Analytik + HPLC in July and, last year, MODcol and the Jones Chromatography high performance liquid chromatography line.
Alltech is a privately held company with manufacturing facilities and R&D laboratories in the US, UK and Belgium. Its products are used in high performance liquid, gas, and ion chromatography, as well as solid phase extraction technologies, for drug discovery and production.
It will be integrated into the separations business of WR Grace's Davison Specialty Materials unit. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
WR Grace currently manufactures Vydac columns and media for analytical, preparative, and process applications and Davisil chromatographic media. The company recently introduced the Denalo line of columns and media for small-molecule separations.
