Achim Noack is to become managing director of Bayer Technology Services. He is currently head of Bayer Technology Services Americas, and will succeed Dr Wolfram Wagner, who has headed the Bayer service company since its founding in July 2002, as part of the restructuring of the Bayer Group. Dr Wagner is retiring on 30 June after 32 years at Bayer.
The US subsidiary of Japanese pharmaceutical company Eisai has appointed Louis Arp as vice president of production operations at the company's pharmaceutical production and formulation research and development facility in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. In his role, Mr. Arp will oversee all aspects of production, including manufacturing, packaging, materials management and facility engineering. Arp was formerly president of Norwich Pharmaceuticals, where he was responsible for running a $40 million outsourcing manufacturing operation.
Lipoxen Technologies, the UK drug and vaccine delivery company, has appointed Sir Brian Richards to its board as non-executive chairman. Sir Brian was a co-founder of British Biotech and is also non-executive chairman of UK biotech firm Alizyme. In his latest role he will guide Lipoxen through the next stages of development as it seeks to develop protein therapeutics and vaccines based on its drug and vaccine delivery technologies, PolyXen and ImuXen respectively.
MIV Therapeutics, which develops biocompatible coatings and drug delivery technologies, has named Dhirajlal Kotadia to the position of co-chairman and managing director of international operations. Kotadia is the founder and CEO of India-based advanced stent manufacturer Sahajanand Medical Technologies.
Alan Isaacs, founder of UK-headquartered packaging and converting process machinery company Doyen Medipharm, has announced his retirement after almost 14 years at the head of the group. Managing director Tony Blake will take over at the helm of the company.

Ivan Gergel has been promoted to the position of senior VP, scientific affairs, at Forest Laboratories and president of the Forest Research Institute. Dr Gergel replaces Lawrence Olanoff, who has resigned effective 29 July to take up the post of president and CEO of biotechnology firm Celsion.
