PSI (Proteus Services for Industry) will offer a range of protein-related services includes ProdLine - set of both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cell-based and cell-free production systems - and DreamLine, a service rapidly generate valuable variants of proteins using proprietary reasoned randomised mutagenesis and gene shuffling technologies.
The company said that these packages are aimed at answering important questions such as how to efficiently produce proteins in a scaleable system, how to rapidly get the proteins encoded by our gene library for functional high-throughput screening, and how to engineer a protein so that it fits with a client's industrial constraints?
"With PSI, our customers can now benefit from our expertise and technologies for producing and engineering their own proteins," said Proteus CEO Daniel Dupret. "With this new clearly delineated corporate structure, we have put in place the framework for developing a completely new culture of services."
Proteus recently appointed Emmanuel Maille, formerly the CEO of proteomics specialist Proteaxis, to take charge of the PSI business.
