Thermo Electron launches CDS software for LIMS

Thermo Electron announces the launch of its chromatography data system (CDS), which provides enhancements in data integration with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) for improved laboratory productivity.

LIMS and CDS integration has become a key issue for laboratories with scientists and researchers needing easy access to data to make better-informed decisions. A key requirement is to ensure secure, robust communication between the instrument and software.

Thermo's version 8.0 of the AtlasT chromatography data system (CDS) provides a solution that not only integrates data streams from multiple instruments manufactured by multiple vendors, but also integrates with LIMS that typically store summary results for each analysis.

The CDS is primarily aimed at basic disease research, drug target discovery and validation, surrogate marker development or toxicology studies, integrating and analysing data from a variety of genomics and proteomics applications,

Tight integration between the LIMS and CDS enables users to access critical data when faced with a decision where the QA/QC source data is needed immediately. The robust enhancements and interoperability with Thermo's LIMS are designed for consistent reporting and shared data that increases productivity.

Atlas was developed in partnership with chromatographers to configure to any laboratory's workflow while providing the flexibility to integrate with LIMS and other data management systems for a scalable, compliant solution.

As an enterprise solution on which many leading organisations have standardised, Atlas can provide savings when compared to the expense of implementing and validating multiple instrument-specific or lab-based software solutions.
