Foss launches new MultiVial Analyser

Foss has introduced the latest in its NIRSystems analyser range, featuring the company's XDS near-infrared (NIR) technology, for improved analytical performance in harsh industrial manufacturing environments.

The new MultiVial Analyser offers manufacturers increased sensitivity and instrument matching to enhance method development, minimise implementation time and assist with method transferability.

It combines high-performance technology with ease of use - making routine NIR analysis more simplified. This allows routine analysis to be performed more frequently, which should reduce the risk of rework in production, making products more consistent and improving throughput in the laboratory.

The analyser features automated, unattended reflectance analysis of a tray of multiple vials. An integrated variable spot-size feature enables the sample illumination to be adjusted, based on the diameter of the vials being used.

The sample centering iris is provided for single sample analysis, while the optional coarse granular cell extends analysis to virtually any solid form from fine powders to coarse granular materials, pellet and flakes.

The MultiVial Analyser also complies with cGMP, ISO 9000, USP and EP requirements and incorporates instrument performance verification routines to verify analyser performance.

>Foss has been active in expanding their NIR technology this year - in July they introduced VISION 3.30, an FDA (21 CFR Part 11)-compliant software package designed specifically for NIR spectral acquisition, method development and routine analysis for the pharmaceutical and chemical markets

In April, Foss launched four new analysing solutions for manufacturing applications, each harnessing the company's NIR-based technology aimed at providing more accurate feed-back for various processing techniques.

Foss's NIRSystems provide analysis of clear to opaque liquids, slurries, suspensions and all types of solids in a range of applications including product development, control lab testing or at-line QC.

Foss says that one calibration can be used across different XDS instruments or measurement interfaces. As a result, concerns about issues such as installation, calibration maintenance and instrument adjustment are minimised. For some applications, ready-to-use calibrations are available - making it simple for users to get up and running.
