Thermosafe Brands introduce Nomadic pallet shipper

ThermoSafe Brands has unveiled a pre-qualified, reusable shipping system, which enables the safe transportation of bulk quantities of pharmaceutical and vaccine substances under optimal temperatures.

Thermosafe have designed this product to meet a need within the industry that requires packaging that can cope with the trend towards fewer logistical centres serving geographically larger and larger areas.

This means more robust units with bigger payloads to cope with longer journey cycles. Traditionally this has been achieved by adding to the complexity of the packaging, thus reducing the payload or significantly increasing the size of the unit and thus the freighting costs.

At the same time the risk of error is increased almost in ratio to the amount the pack-off sequence has become more complicated.

Designed and manufactured to maintain payloads from 2-8 degrees centigrade, the system can be configured to maintain a temperature over 24, 48 or 120 hours.

The system, known as the Nomadic Pallet Shipper, is the latest member of the Nomadic line of pre-qualified shipping systems solutions that include models the original Model E280C, Model E48, sized more than 40 per cent smaller, and the latest addition, Model E24A, an overnight shipper.

The Pallet Shipper features a high-density polyurethane core for high insulation value and employs frozen and refrigerated Polar Pack Foam Bricks placed in corrugated plastic sleeves around the payload to maintain the desired temperature without the need for mechanical refrigeration.

Polar Packs are refrigerant gel packs that have been available for more than 20 years. They are available in a variety of sizes and styles that offer reliable protection for shipping temperature sensitive products, such as pharmaceuticals and perishables.

Standard gel packs are a great alternative to wet ice, enclosed in durable polyethylene film.

Other benefits of the Nomadic Pallet Shipper include the absence of mechanical refrigeration needed and reusability for up to three point-to-point shipments.
