Comar's new custom packaging service
launch its new custom design and production service for
pharmaceutical packaging, offering customers a free initial
consultation.
The process, called A Solution Resource (ASR) involves five steps of which customers can choose to use all or cherry pick any part of the custom, design, testing or production process accordingly.
"ASR is an ideal service for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies who prefer outsourcing to meet their custom packaging needs," said the company.
First up, Comar will define and evaluate a client's packaging needs, incorporating factors such as materials, delivery, sterilisation, assembly and filling requirements.
In the next step of the process, a design team will produce 2D drawings, 3D renderings and models to demonstrate recommended packaging and material options.
Once the approval is given, Comar will then refine the design and material specifications and provide an estimate of the unit and tooling costs to within 10 per cent accuracy, said the company.
Finally, the product quality and stability are scrutinised using a number of internal and external testing measures.
"Although the customer is not required to use Comar as a manufacturer in order to take advantage of this service, this option is also available," said the company.
If required, Comar can the go on to build the production tooling and manufacture the product, and also assist with other processes such as sterilisation validation and stability confirmation.
Customers opting for the manufacturing component of the process receive a built-in credit, said the company.
