CyBio displays liquid handling kit at Analytica
system at Analytica in Munich, which aims to meet customer needs in
drug discovery processes that require precision and accuracy when
handling fluid materials.
Automatic workbench systems have become a valuable tool in many applications in modern drug discovery and materials science having become a standard tool in modern laboratories.
The distribution and manipulation of liquids is only a part of everyday laboratory work in biochemical and chemical laboratories. However, in many applications, the dosing and distribution of solid materials plays the core role.
CyBio's liquid handling platform, CyBi-RoboSpense, is designed for highest on-deck modularity and integration ease as the system can be easily adapted to individual process demands.
The instrument capabilities allows complex sample preparation and purification routines such as tryptic digest and magnetic bead separation and can be of great value in drug R&D applications, such as ADME/Tox and molecular biology.
Equipped with 4 or 8 variable span pipetting channels the instrument can address almost any type of sample tubes and plate formats.
An optional gripper adds plate transport capabilities within the deck and to neighboring modules. Thus, direct interaction with readers, HPLC/MS or additional pipetting devices can be realised.
Also debuting at the show is CyBio's solution to easy automation access with its 8-channel pipetting system, the CyBi-DiluS, which is deemed suitable for processes that occur in small and mid-sized laboratories.
Daily pipetting routines such as serial dilutions, plate reformatting and replication, reagent distribution, complete assays and more are fast and easy to set up using the CyBio Control software. The CyBi-DiluS promises high precision and reproducible performance.
By using a variety of different plate and tip formats (96 or 384-well microplates and three different tip volumes) CyBi-DiluS new features offers users a high flexibility and multipurpose instrument with large dynamic volume range from 0.5 - 250 ml.
CyBio said that the technology has been designed based on customers' requirements for microplates and other accessories the system is therefore available in either a 4- or 5-place linear system or a 10 position circular disc system.
In addition, the CyBi -DiluS can also be integrated into a number of complex assay platforms.
