Infrared spectroscopy provides a molecular fingerprint for both qualitative and quantitative analysis and Thermo has been concentrating on NIR solutions that migrate process analysis from the lab into production and directly measure points in product manufacturing.
Method developers and NIR experts in the pharmaceutical industries require powerful chemometric modeling and exploratory statistical tools to conduct difficult analyses such as studying relationships in their products and manufacturing processes, so this latest collaboration will lead to more efficient modeling software for NIR applications.
Thermo will offer the Unscrambler suite of products as a software option with its Antaris range of NIR analysers, and will also join CAMO's scientific board of advisors, which helps plan upcoming development activities.
Modeling may now be carried out using the Unscrambler and calibrations may be implemented in real-time routines with the RESULT workflows, thereby eliminating the need for data conversion or rebuilding methods in different software.
"We are very pleased to bring to our mutual clients the benefits of these exciting new levels of cross-functionality and greatly expanded application development possibilities," a CAMO spokesperson said.
"Clients will benefit from lower R&D and applications development costs while realising vastly improved analytical and development capabilities implementing seamless on-, in-, at-, and off-line chemometric applications."
The Unscrambler's wizard-driven design of experiment features, together with its advanced modeling capabilities, is of particular benefit for process analytical technology (PAT) implementations that require optimised method development for the NIR analysis and exploration of the process design space, as this can now be carried out from a single analytical package.
Thermo will now offer clients its full line of existing and new NIR Analysers, combined with its RESULT instrument software and CAMO's full suite of multivariate analytical solutions, which include CAMO's Unscrambler software, the Unscrambler On-Line Predictor (OLUP), the Unscrambler On-Line Classifier (OLUC) and CAMO's Product and Process Optimizer.
