Under the arrangement, TNS will provide Pfizer with monthly sales data using its proprietary Transact Sri software, which, according to the firm, "gives the most comprehensive and detailed information available to pharmaceutical sales forces."
Transact Sri offers insights into trends at a GP practice-level to support national and local sales strategies, track brand performance and measure and reward sales effectiveness, said the company.
"We have been working with Pfizer for many years, but this deal will enable Pfizer to look at sales data in more detail for the first time," David White, director, TNS Healthcare told Outsourcing-Pharma.com.
"The trend of our clients moving to practice-level sales tracking data has gathered momentum in recent months."
According to a statement released, Pfizer selected TNS Healthcare's services "based on their innovation, technical support and client service excellence" after a detailed review process.
TNS Healthcare's ability to deliver timely practice-level insights using advanced modelling techniques also played a key role in Pfizer's decision, said the statement.
"Our vision for our UK sales force is to be the most effective in the industry," added Philip Watts, sales director at Pfizer.
"To achieve this goal, we will need the best tools available. One critical tool of our trade is accurate sales data."
Neither firm would comment any further on the specific terms of the contract.
