Isopak to offer packaging equipment sourcing service

Equipment supplier Isopak has launched a new sourcing service to meet the manufacturing needs of its clients.

The company said this new service is an add-on to its existing role as distributor of equipment to the pharmaceutical industry.

It claims this new facility has the ability to search for "the best available in pharmaceutical machinery" for customers.

Drug companies are under constant pressure when it comes to manufacturing processes and as a result, have to time their equipment purchases in order to handle anticipated demand as well as unexpected spikes in demand.

"We found that, quite surprisingly, a lot of our customers don't have the time or the capacity to find and purchase the right equipment and need external help", Robin Davies, Isopak's managing director, told In-PharmaTechnologist.com.

"So we decided to provide them with assistance in sourcing equipment."

The firm said the service would help pharmaceutical manufacturers mainly with the sourcing of packaging equipment, as it is where the demand is higher.

Although Isopak has not made any investment to provide the new service, Davies said he expected "quite interesting returns," partly because not many other equipment suppliers currently provide this extra help for their customers.

Since its launch, the firm has already secured twelve contracts with manufacturers.

Isopak is a UK based company that provides a range of equipment for the preparation and packaging of pharmaceutical products, particularly for laboratories and clinical trial preparations, including capsule banding and sealing systems.
