Millipore offer 500-litre disposable mixer
Millipore has launched the third addition to its Mobius range of disposable mixing systems the MIX500 mixer with a configurable 500-litre container.
Particle generation is minimised by the mixers instant-on, levitating magnetically-driven impeller, which also facilitates risk-free media and buffer preparation, according to Millipore.
The mixer is designed to be easily and economically integrated into a setup with an array of Mobius process containers, Lynx connectors, Opticap filters, connectors and tubing.
In creating this product suite Millipore believes it has designed a disposable system for mixing pharmaceutical ingredients from intermediates to final drug products and for the preparation of process solutions, such as buffers and media.
New ozone generator from Purfresh
Purfresh has introduced its new OG-4000 ozone generator, a machine for purifying air or process water in small to mid-scale bottling operations.
The system is a self-contained generator equipped with Purfresh’s informatics service, Intellipur. Purfresh claims this provides remote real-time monitoring and safety controls.
David Cope, president and CEO of Purfresh, said: “The new Purfresh aqueous generator is ideally suited for the needs of private-label bottlers, the largest sector in the bottling market by revenue in the US, and it is also getting attention from other product manufacturers that depend upon pure and reliable water.”
Despite the compact nature of its new generator Purfresh claims it still delivers “industry-leading concentrations of ozone”. Housed within the self-contained generator is equipment necessary for controlling air preparation, oxygen concentration, ozone generation and distribution.
The system is air cooled negating the need for extra machinery and piping that is associated with incomplete water-cooled alternatives, according to Purfresh. .
ESS launches new tube filling & closing equipment
ESS Technologies has released the Model TF 100 Automatic Tube Filler/Closer that is capable of filling and closing 100 tubes per minute.
The new equipment forms part of a complete high speed packaging line, with the TF 100 capable of filling and closing metal, plastic, polyfoil, and cassette infeed tubes with diameters up to 50mm.
In addition the equipment is designed to current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) compliant and is suitable for use in sterile rooms.
The TF 100 also has a small footprint and offers easy cleaning and maintenance as a consequence of its stainless steel frame and control panel.
Its moving mechanical parts are self-lubricating and the machine operator interacts with the equipment through a touchscreen display to adjust performance and maintain operational logs.
