The system, which is used for a wide variety of flexible packaging applications in the drug manufacturing sector, is compatible with 2” and 5” printheads that the UK firm says are ideal for high volume manufacturing environments.
The V300+ has a print resolution of 300dpi and is capable of applying text, bar codes, data matrix codes and product logos to the full range of packaging surfaces used in the pharmaceutical industry.
It is designed for use in both continuous and intermittent modes, and can be mounted on a variety of flexible packaging machines including vertical or horizontal form, fill and seal machines and label applicators.
Speaking at Embellage, Yann Gorrity, Domino’s general manager highlighted the simplicity of the V300+’s unique ribbon saving technology, which uses ribbons up to 60 per cent shorter than those used by other industrial printers, as another of the platforms key features.
Gorrity added that when combined with the V300+ ribbon auto-retraction system, which ensures less than 1mm gap between the prints on the ribbon roll, the platform minimises the amount of ribbon waste, significantly helping cost reduction.
Gorrity also claimed that the system’s “greater functionality and productivity enhancements will be of huge benefit to our customers in improving the overall effectiveness of their manufacturing operations."
