Telstar unveils vial unloading system at Achema

Telstar unveiled a range of products at Achema 2009 in Frankfurt, Germany last week, including its compact unloading system that forms part of its automatic vial loading system and aims to minimise installation space.

Achema, which is currently taking place in Frankfurt, Germany, has been selected by Telstar as the venue to show its advancements in containment, sterilization and freeze-drying.

The company unloading system has been designed to be easily integrated to the back of the chamber underneath the freeze dryer, which results in no disruption to equipment layout, according to Telstar.

Once the vials have come through the filling line and undergone the freeze drying cycle the unloading system pushes them out of the chamber, allowing them to be organised into a single line before being taken for over-sealing.

Flexible wall containment isolators

Telstar has also designed a range of isolators for use in clinical and small scale production. These aim to provide the same safe, controlled working environment as rigid isolators but at a lower cost, making them suitable for small scale production.

In addition the relatively low cost of the isolators makes single-use applications feasible, according to Telstar, in cases where its is more convenient to dispose of it between batches than perform decontamination and cleaning procedures.

Integrated water systems

Telstar has worked in conjunction with TRPO to create a new line of products, Telstar Water Systems (TWS), which offer water and steam generation and distribution in accordance with guidance from pharmacopeias.

TWS performs the manufacture, project management, installation and commissioning of water systems, which Telstar believes helps create an integrated setup.
