Appointments at WuXi, OctoPlus and Catalent – People on the move

Outsourcing-Pharma presents its latest round up of movements in the pharmaceutical outsourcing sector, including appointments at WuXi, OctoPlus and Catalent.

Felix Hsu has been appointed senior vice president of WuXi AppTec US. Hsu previously worked for Medtronic for 14 years, holding a number of positions.

Prior to joining Medtronic Hsu worked for Abbott Laboratories and Sabratek.

OctoPlus has appointed Susan Swarte as chief financial officer. Swarte has more than 16 years experience in financial and strategic management at companies including Unilever and Numico, which has now become Danone.

Catalent Pharma Solutions has appointed Sharon Johnson as senior vice president of quality and regulatory affairs following Ed Thiele’s decision to retire early in 2010.

Johnson has more than 25 years experience in the pharma industry and most recently worked for GE Healthcare Biosciences.

Jeff Goddard has been appointed global head of sales at BioStorage Technologies, a US-based company offering samples storage and cold chain logistics.

Goddard has nearly 15 years sales experience and has worked for contract research organisations (CRO) including Xceleron, Bioanalytical Systems and Gene Logic.

China-based CRO Sundia MediTech has appointed Tong Xu as vice president of process and chemistry services. Prior to joining Sundia Xu worked at La Jolla Pharmaceutical Company.

Healthcare services company Dohmen has appointed Cynthia LaConte as its CEO. LaConte is the first female CEO in the companies 150 year history and previously worked as chief operating officer of the business.
