SourceSolution and bioprocessUK hope to boost UK contracting sector

US software group SourceSolution has signed a co-marketing deal with bioProcessUK they claim will help UK pharma contractors raise their global profiles and find new drug industry clients.

San Francisco headquartered SouurceSolution is a specialist developer of procurement and project management software for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

The firm is focused on providing software solutions that “make outsourcing decisions easier” by allowing pharma seeking contract development and manufacture to compare their specific needs against and database of services providers.

In contrast, bioProcessUK, which merged with the HealthTech & Medicines Knowledge Transfer Network earlier this month, is “dedicated to the advancement of knowelde transfer and innovation,” in all aspects of the healthcare sector.

Under the co-marketing deal, SourceSolution will provide its Startup Edition software to bioprocess UK members at a discounted rate, enabling them to connect with potential drug industry clients worldwide

In return bioProcessUK will ensure that those member contract research and manufacturing organisations (CRO/CMOs) are “well represented in the SourceSolution Startup Edition.” The UK firm said that inclusion will “provide [members] with an additional marketing channel to potential biotech and pharma clients.”

BioProcessUK’s clients will also have the option to purchase SourceSolution Professional Edition at a discounted rate.

Premila Anand, SourceSolution’s CEO, said: “We understand the decision to outsource critical product development activities to a CMO or CRO are among the most important decisions a biotech/pharma organisation makes.”

Through this relationship [with bioProcessUK] we hope to provide additional resources and benefits for companies outsourcing their products.”

Mark Bustrad, head of bioProcessUK, also stressed the benefits of the deal, explaining it will “help UK companies involved in contract service provision increase their global profile and generate further business.”
