Unilife tagets pharma with Unifill brand

US headquartered Unilife is targeting pharmaceutical companies with its new Unifill RTF safety syringe and product range and has begun seeking international trademarks.

The Unifill syringe, unveiled at the Parenteral Drug Association (PDA) conference in Italy this week, is compatible with the injectable drug filling and packaging systems, in an approach Unilife says, will minimize production and supply chain costs associated with compliance with needlestick prevention laws.

The firm, which has manufacturing operations in the US as well as offices in Australia and France, hopes the Unifill brand will serve as a marketing platform for its line of parenteral delivery products and has loft ambitions for the range.

CEO Alan Shortfall said: “We expect that Unifill will become a premier global brand within the pharmaceutical industry for best-in-class ready-to-fill (RTF) safety syringes." The product is expected to be available next year.
