in-PharmaTechnologist spoke with Tony Edwards, managing director of the coating and security products division of Payne's parent company Filtrona, who said growing drug industry demand for anti-counterfeiting solutions was a key driver for the deal.
Edwards explained that the adaptability of adhesive security labelling, BP’s core focus, is suited to the varying demands of the pharmaceutical industry and added the technology is an excellent fit for Filtrona’s existing track and trace offering.
He went on to say that, increasingly, the drug industry will seek out labelling security solutions that are difficult to copy and that this, coupled with the continuing growth of pharmaceutical industry supply chains worldwide, will drive development.
