Perceptive adds metrics to medical imaging reporting

Perceptive Informatics has added industry standard performance metrics to its medical imaging capabilities, allowing users to track progress against Metrics Champion Consortium (MCC) criteria.

MCC developed its imaging metrics to improve sponsor, site and core lab clinical trial operations. In particular, the metrics can help sponsors ask the questions needed to gain a better understanding of the core lab's services, processes and ability to meet critical timelines.

The metrics were launched in January 2009 and Perceptive Informatics claims to be among the first business to offer a reporting solution that incorporates the criteria. Addition of metrics is part of Perceptive’s continual enhancement of its reporting solution.

Clients can benefit from our powerful reporting solution which has been designed to provide high quality data to enable greater insights into trial progress and support faster execution”, said Kenneth Faulkner, vice president of medical imaging at Perceptive.

The reporting system uses a dashboard to present high level imaging performance metrics using graphical displays. These convey key performance indicators (KPI), such as site qualification status by country and overall radiology review status, at a glance, according to Perceptive.

Online interactive reports are another feature of the system. These ready-made, validated online reports are provided for all imaging studies to help monitor and track trial progress and performance. Users can also explore the data using the system’s interactive features.

Boost for Parexel

Parexel, the parent company of Perceptive, received a boost at the end of March when an analyst raised his rating to “strong buy” from “outperform”. This helped increase Parexel’s share price.

The company is due to release its third quarter financial results on April 27.
