Appointments at Quintiles, Harlan Laboratories and Emerald BioStructures – People on the move
Tony van Bijleveld has been named vice president (VP), business development and operations, for global commercial solutions in Central and Eastern Europe, and the Russian Federation at Quintiles.
Before joining Quintiles, Bijleveld worked in the Russian market for Schering Plough. He has also held a number of positions at Organon before it was acquired by Schering Plough.
Harlan Laboratories has elected Hans Thunem as its CEO and board member. Thunem was previously group president of research models and services at Harlan and has also worked in the oil industry.
Diana Wetmore has joined Emerald BioStructures as VP of business development and alliances. Wetmore has previously worked at Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Therapeutics, Geneprot and Scriptgen Pharmaceuticals.
Asymchem Laboratories has appointed Guojie Xu as director of formulation development, Pingzhong Huang as director of chemical development and Xiaojun Huang as senior director of chemical development.
Xu has previously worked at Sandoz, Pingzhong Huang joins the company from Wyeth and Xiaojun Huang was a research scientist at Roche.
Deborah Tanner, corporate SVP and president, central laboratory services at Covance, has been elected to the board of directors at BioCrossroads, Indiana’s life sciences initiative.
Also joining the board are Richard Jones of Medco Health Solutions, Jan Lundberg of Eli Lilly and Jon Serbousek of Biomet Orthopedics.
SciQuest has named Rudy Howard as chief financial officer. Most recently, Howard held the same position at MDS Pharma Services and has also worked at PPD.
Rob Scoffin has been appointed as CEO of Cresset. Scoffin joins Cresset from CambridgeSoft and has also held positions at Amedis and Oxford Molecular.
Qforma has hired Judy Stein as director, client services. Stein has previously worked at Bain & Co, in partnership with Baxter Healthcare, and GE Healthcare, Performance Solutions.
