Appointments at Quintiles, ClinTec, Novasep, SCM and GVK – People on the move
Quintiles has hired Blair Gibson as vice president (VP), brand solutions for global commercial solutions. Gibson has more than 20 years biopharm experience, including time at Merck & Co and Sanofi-Aventis.
Austin Clarke has been named as director of global clinical resourcing at ClinTec. Clarke joins ClinTec from Adecco, a global provider of human resource services.
Novasep has strengthened operations with two appointments. Stephen Stefano joins the contract manufacturing organisation (CMO) as president and CEO of the North American business, having previously spent 29 years at Glaxo, GlaxoWellcome and GlaxoSmithKline.
In addition, Patrick Glaser has been hired as president and CEO of the synthesis division. Over the past 24 years Glaser has worked at Knoll Pharmaceuticals, BASF and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories.
John Ellingboe has been named as SVP, discovery chemistry at GVK Biosciences. Ellingboe joins GVK after spending 25 years at Wyeth and Pfizer.
BioPharma Projects, a UK-based supplier of drug development teams, has appointed Bernard Chan to its board of directors. Before joining BioPharma Chan worked at CMC Biologics, UCB Pharma and Celltech Group.
Diane Sharp has joined SCM Pharma as managing director to accelerate the CMO’s growth. Sharp replaces Shirley Dann, who will remain a director and lead the firm’s business development team. Before joining SCM Sharp was managing director of Mechetronics.
Clinical monitoring firm IMARC Research has promoted Brandy Smith to the position of chief of clinical operations. Smith joined IMARC three years ago having previously worked at BIOMEC.
IMARC has also appointed John Lehmann as director of business development and Alison Campbell as clinical research associate. Lehmann has previously worked at Tech Resources and Acxiom.
DDN, a provider of business services to life science firms, has promoted Mark Wiesman to the office of president and made a number of other appointments.
The company has hired or promoted Dan Dietz, Rob Klinck, Janett Gray, Peg Heinen, Pat McGinn and Tom Donahue.
