Appointments at Quintiles, ClinTec, Novasep, SCM and GVK – People on the move

Outsourcing-Pharma presents its latest round up of movements in the pharma outsourcing sector, including appointments at Quintiles, ClinTec, Novasep, SCM and GVK.

Quintiles ​has hired Blair Gibson ​as vice president (VP), brand solutions for global commercial solutions. Gibson has more than 20 years biopharm experience, including time at Merck & Co and Sanofi-Aventis.

Austin Clarke ​has been named as director of global clinical resourcing at ClinTec​. Clarke joins ClinTec from Adecco, a global provider of human resource services.

Novasep ​has strengthened operations with two appointments. Stephen Stefano ​joins the contract manufacturing organisation (CMO) as president and CEO of the North American business, having previously spent 29 years at Glaxo, GlaxoWellcome and GlaxoSmithKline.

In addition, Patrick Glaser​ has been hired as president and CEO of the synthesis division. Over the past 24 years Glaser has worked at Knoll Pharmaceuticals, BASF and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories.

John Ellingboe ​has been named as SVP, discovery chemistry at GVK Biosciences​. Ellingboe joins GVK after spending 25 years at Wyeth and Pfizer.

BioPharma ​Projects, a UK-based supplier of drug development teams, has appointed Bernard Chan​ to its board of directors. Before joining BioPharma Chan worked at CMC Biologics, UCB Pharma and Celltech Group.

Diane Sharp ​has joined SCM Pharma ​as managing director to accelerate the CMO’s growth. Sharp replaces Shirley Dann​, who will remain a director and lead the firm’s business development team. Before joining SCM Sharp was managing director of Mechetronics.

Clinical monitoring firm IMARC Research​ has promoted Brandy Smith​ to the position of chief of clinical operations. Smith joined IMARC three years ago having previously worked at BIOMEC.

IMARC has also appointed John Lehmann ​as director of business development and Alison Campbell​ as clinical research associate. Lehmann has previously worked at Tech Resources and Acxiom.

DDN​, a provider of business services to life science firms, has promoted Mark Wiesman ​to the office of president and made a number of other appointments.

The company has hired or promoted Dan Dietz​, Rob Klinck​, Janett Gray​, Peg Heinen​, Pat McGinn​ and Tom Donahue​.
