Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) has named John Castellani as president and CEO. Castellani has worked for the past nine years as president and CEO of Business Roundtable.
Also, Mark Trudeau has been elected to the board of directors at PhRMA. Trudeau is president of Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals. He has previously worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb and Abbott Laboratories.
Timothy Hayes has had head of global business development added to his roles at Bayer HealthCare Consumer Care. Hayes joined Bayer HealthCare Consumer Care in 1992 and is already senior vice president (SVP) and region head of the business unit in North America.
KV Pharmaceutical has appointed Thomas McHugh as chief financial officer (CFO). McHugh replaces Steven Stamp who became CFO in April. Stamp took over from McHugh who served as interim CFO from September 2009 until April 2010 before becoming chief accountability officer.
Jonathan Peacock has been named as CFO at Amgen. Peacock joins from Novartis where he worked as CFO since 2005. He has also worked at McKinsey and Company and Price Waterhouse.
Thailand-based Berlin Pharmaceutical Industry has appointed Amal Naj as CEO and member of the board. Naj is a former SVP of Pfizer and joined the big pharma in 1997.
Lafmin Morgan has joined the global commercial operations unit at Talecris Biotherapeutics as VP, US product management. Morgan joins from GlaxoSmithKline.
Amneal Pharmaceuticals has named Shankar Hariharan as chief scientific officer and EVP of speciality pharmaceuticals. Hariharan has previously worked at Par Pharmaceuticals, DermAct Pharmaceutical and Forest Laboratories.
Douglas Watson has been appointed to the board of directors at Delcath Systems. Watson is the former president and CEO of Novartis. He has also worked at Ciba-Geigy.
