Appointments at Roche, Caraco, CMP Therapeutics and Unilife – People on the move

in-PharmaTechnologist presents its latest round up of movements in the pharma sector, including appointments at Roche, Caraco, CMP Therapeutics and Unilife.

GP Singh Sachdeva has been promoted to the position of chief operating officer at Caraco Pharmaceutical Laboratories. Sachdeva has worked at Caraco since 2000, holding a number of positions.

Roche has appointed Karen Lackey as vice president (VP) and head of medicinal chemistry. Lackey last worked at GlaxoSmithKline and has also held positions at Pfizer.

Neill Moray Mackenzie as been named as CEO of CMP Therapeutics. Mackenzie has executive level experience at biopharm firms including Cambridge Genetics, Oxford Biomedica and Medigene AG.

CT Atlantic AG has hired Michael Höcker as CEO and Cara Lerner as chief operating officer. Höcker has previously worked at Roche and AstraZeneca. Lerner joined CT Atlantic in 2009 having previously worked at Merck & Co.

Marc Firestone has joined the board of directors and strategic partnerships committee at Unilife. Firestone works at Kraft Foods and has previously held positions at Philip Morris.

Celsion has named Sid Taubenfeld as director of communications and strategic initiatives. Taubenfeld has spent the past 11 years working at three Wall Street funds.

Richard Freer has been appointed as CEO of Commonwealth Biotechnologies, Inc (CBI). Freer was one of the founders of the company and has now replaced Bill Guo as CEO.

Aesica has hired Scott Silaika as business development director for the Eastern US. Silaika has 14 years of biopharm experience, most recently at Ricerca Biosciences.

Daniel Kisner has been appointed to the board of directors at Dynavax Technologies. Kisner has previously worked Abbott Laboratories, Caliper Technologies and Isis Pharmaceuticals.

Adeona Pharmaceuticals has named Julie Caudill as VP of finance and corporate controller. For the past 15 years Caudill has worked at Aastrom Biosciences.
