Clodalkin plans pharma biz growth

Clondalkin aims to expand its pharmaceutical cartoning and labelling business with reorganised operations in Ireland and Poland.

The Netherlands-based firm, which makes packaging for pharmaceutical, food and cosmetics on a contractual basis, recently appointed Sean Nolan and Piotr Lelakowski as managing directors in the respective countries.

Nolan will lead Clondalkin’s Pharmagraphics Guy, Kenilworth Products and Cahill Printers units in Ireland, while Lelakowski will head operations at Boxes Prestige Poland and Harlands Poland.

Speaking at the time Clondalkin’s packaging division, David Lennon, said: “The grouping of the Ireland pharma sites is designed to help us build an even stronger position in the market across a broad range of product categories including booklets, leaflets, leaflet/label and extended content labels.”

Lelakowski, who joins the firm from P&G, said: “Our recent expansion into multi-layered labels, peel-and-read labels, leaflet-labels and booklet-labels is proving increasingly popular with customers, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector.”
