Appointments at NormOxys, Caraco, Shire and ChemWorth – People on the move

in-PharmaTechnologist presents its latest round up of movements in the pharma sector, including appointments at NormOxys, Caraco, Shire and ChemWorth.

NormOxys ​has appointed Gerard Riedel​ as vice president (VP), regulatory affairs and program management. Riedel joins from Momenta Pharmaceuticals and has also worked at Praecis, Wyeth and Genetics Institute.

GP Singh Sachdeva ​will become CEO of Caraco Pharmaceutical Laboratories​. Singh is replacing Jitendra Doshi ​who has resigned as interim CEO for personal and health-related reasons.

Before being named CEO Singh worked as chief operating officer at Caraco. Singh joined Caraco in 2000 as national sales and marketing manager and has also worked as VP, sales and marketing.

Shire ​has named Philip Vickers ​as SVP of research and development for its human genetic therapies business. Vickers joins Shire from Resolvyx Pharmaceuticals and has also worked at Boehringer-Ingelheim, Pfizer and Merck Frosst.

Jeffrey Bauer​ has joined ChemWorth​ as president. Before joining the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) supplier Bauer worked at Eon Labs, Ivax Pharmaceuticals, AAIPharma and, most recently, Sandoz.

Contract packager Pharma Tech Industries ​(PTI​) has appointed Bryan Cox​ as staff engineer. Earlier in his career Cox worked at Remington Medical, Pixel Optics and Johnson & Johnson.

N Govindarajan​has been named as CEO of two units at Aurobindo Pharma​. Before taking charge of the active pharmaceutical ingredient and contract research and manufacturing services (CRAMS) units Govindarajan was managing director and CEO of Shasun Pharmaceuticals.

Ligand Pharmaceuticals ​has appointed Sunil Patel ​to its board of directors. Patel has 17 years of senior management and R&D experience at companies including OncoMed Pharmaceuticals and Gilead Sciences.
