Board elections at ISPE and appointments at Advaxis and Asubio – People on the move

in-PharmaTechnologist presents its latest round up of movements in the pharma sector, including board elections at ISPE and appointments at Advaxis and Asubio.

ISPE ​has published the results of elections to its international board of directors for 2010-2011. Andre Walker​ of Biogen Idec has been named as chairman and Arthur Perez ​of Novartis has been elected vice chairman.

Charlotte Enghave Fruergaard ​of Finished Pharma has been appointed as treasurer and Damian Greene​, senior director plant network strategy for Pfizer global manufacturing, is now secretary.

Also, Steve Tyler ​of Abbott Laboratories and Guy Wingate ​of GlaxoSmithKline have been re-elected as directors. Joe Famulare ​of Genentech, Gordon Leichter ​of Belimed Infection Control and Steve Williams ​of SeerPharma have been elected as directors for the first time.

Advaxis​ has named Robert Petit ​as VP of clinical operations and medical affairs. Before joining Advaxis Petit worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb and has also held positions at MGI Pharma and Aesgen.

David Lathbury ​has joined AMRI ​as vice president (VP) of chemical development, taking responsibility for operations in Albany, Rensselaer and Syracuse, New York. Lathbury joins from AstraZeneca and has also worked at SmithKline Beecham and MTM Fine Chemicals.

Asubio Pharmaceuticals ​has hired Kym Goddu ​as head of human resources. Goddu worked for more than 25 years at Pfizer, spending 15 years in HR leadership roles and eight years in VP-level positions.

Chris Dew ​has been appointed as managing director of UK Labels at the Clondalkin Group​ specialist packaging unit. Dew has previously worked at BPIF Cartons, CPC UK and Polestar.

Cell Medica​ has named Thomas Hecht ​as a non-executive director. Hecht was part of the team which built European operations at Amgen.
