Westat streamlines trial documents with digital signature tech

Westat says digital signature system streamlines trial operations by uniting people signing regulatory documents worldwide.

The Washington, DC, US-based contract research organisation (CRO) has adopted ARX’s CoSign digital signature technology to manage the authorisation of documents such as CRA site monitoring, IRB forms and training requirements.

Jennifer Yunis, Westat senior quality assurance associate, said: “The idea to implement CoSign grew largely out of our desire to link the people that are signing off on regulatory documents but are physically disconnected.

She explained that processes such as the distribution of standard operating procedures, which used to take the firm weeks, now get completed in the course of half-an-hour or an hour, depending on how long it takes people to look at their email.

ARX’s Rodd Schlerf welcomed Wetat’s adoption of CoSign, claiming that the system “has become the de facto standard in clinical research organizations of all sizes ranging from the largest CROs in the world as well as mid-sized and niche organizations.”
