Veritas IRB sets up in Mexico

Veritas IRB has opened an office in Mexico City in a bid to foster culture of patient safety in expanding central and South American trials sector.

The organisation, a division of Canadian contract research organisation (CRO) ethica, will offer the same range of services available at its Montreal and intends to obtain AAHRPP accreditation for the Mexico office in due course.

ethica president Janice Parente explained that the evolution of the global trials sector was the key motivation for the new office.

"While clinical research has globalized and nearly half of the world's clinical trials are now being conducted outside of North America and Western Europe, there is a need to develop a global approach to the oversight of research on humans.”
