Appointments at inVentiv, AMRI, ShangPharma and ERT – People on the move

Outsourcing-Pharma presents its latest round up of movements in the pharma outsourcing sector, including appointments at inVentiv, AMRI, ShangPharma and ERT.

inVentiv Health has hired Rick Finnegan as executive vice president (EVP) of international business in its commercial services division. Finnegan has previously worked at Glenmark Therapeutics and Merck & Co.

Bruce Sargent has been promoted to SVP, drug discovery at AMRI. Sargent joined AMRI in 2001 and will now lead its newly created global drug discovery organisation.

ShangPharma has appointed William Dai as chief financial officer (CFO). Dai last worked at China Nepstar Chain Drugstore. Kevin Penghui Chen, the former CFO, will become president while continuing as chief operating officer (COO).

Tracy Burr has joined PharmaZell as chief technology officer and has taken charge of all research and development activities.

Camargo Pharmaceutical Services has hired Ray Dawkins as chief medical officer. Dawkins has previously worked at Paragon Biomedical and Talecris Biotherapeutics.

Shawn Cavanagh has been named EVP and COO at Cambrex. Cavanagh worked at Cambrex Bioproducts when it was acquired by Lonza in 2007. Since then Cavangh has worked at Lonza but has now rejoined Cambrex to oversee contract manufacturing.

ERT has elected Joel Morganroth as interim-CEO and president after Michael McKelvey retired from the positions. Morganroth has been involved with ERT since 1977 and most recently worked as chairman and chief scientific officer.

Richard Rosenbloom has been appointed to the medical advisory panel at ClinACE.

Ampac Fine Chemicals president Aslam Malik has joined the Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA) board of directors. Malik has been president of Ampac Fine Chemicals since 2005 and has 24 years of industrial experience in fine chemical scale-up.
