Appointments at Merck KGaA, Codexis, DSM and West – People on the move
Friedhelm Felten has been named head of corporate procurement at Merck KGaA. Felton joined Merck as head of procurement services in July 2009 having previously worked at DHL and BASF.
Codexis has promoted David Anton to the newly-created position of chief technology officer and senior vice president (SVP), process development and manufacturing. Anton joined Codexis in 2008 after working at DuPont for 25 years.
Chuck Bramlage has joined Pearl Therapeutics as president and CEO. Bramlage has previously worked at Covidien, Valeant Pharmaceuticals, BattellePharma and GlaxoSmithKline.
MTS Medication Technologies has hired William Shields as president. Shields most recently worked at Artromick International and has also held positions at AmerisourceBergen and PharMerica.
Tan Cheow Choon has been named director of international business at Cumberland Pharmaceuticals. Choon has worked in senior pharmaceutical management for 17 years, most recently at Hospira.
Omni Bio Pharmaceutical has appointed James Crapo as CEO, succeeding Charles Dinarello who held the position on an acting-basis. Dinarello will now work as chief scientific and chief medical officer. Crapo has served on the scientific advisory board at Omni Bio since March 2009.
Stefan Doboczky is inline to join the managing board at DSM with responsibility for the pharma unit and activities in Asia. Doboczky joined DSM in 1998 from ARCO Chemicals. DSM will propose appointing Doboczky to the new roles at its annual general meeting in April.
West Pharmaceutical Services has increased the size of its board and added two new directors. Mark Buthman and Douglas Michels have joined the board in anticipation of John Neafsey and Geoffrey Worden retiring.
Buthman is SVP and CFO of Kimberley-Clark. Michels is president, CEO and a board member of Orasure Technologies, a clinical diagnostics products company.
