The deal, reported on Outsourcing-pharma.com earlier this month, will add Lab’s facilities in Canada, Denmark and Hungary to CIT’s network and, according to the Paris-headquartered firm, position it as a top five global preclinical services player.
CIT chairman Jean-Francois Le Bigot cited Lab’s facilities ability to provide general and specialist services, large animals in Canada, minipigs in Denmark or inhalation and ecotoxicology in Hungary, as a key driver for the deal.
He added that each centre will retain a local management team and that the firm will encourage exchanges and sharing of best practices between facilities in common disciplines.
