Quintiles “common sense” social media guidelines published

Quintiles has published the social media document it uses to guide employees’ activities on Facebook, Twitter and other networks.

In the document Quintiles outlines how employees can interact with social media and some potential pitfalls. Standard public interaction policies and “common sense”still apply on social networks but there are some issues unique to the emerging medium.

Keep in mind that there is no such thing as a private post”, says Quintiles in the guidelines. Both Twitter and Facebook have the option make posts private but comments could be made public by a connection on either social network.

Publication of the guidelines followed “many requests”, said Quintiles on Twitter. Quintiles has also opened a discussion board on Facebook to gather feedback on the social media guidelines.

Outsourcing-Pharma included Quintiles on its list of 50 contract service providers on Twitter.
