Almac sets up depots for trial drugs in Asia-Pacific

Almac has set up new depots for clinical trial materials in Asia-Pacific as part of a plan to build its presence in a one of the world’s fastest growing markets.

The Northern Ireland-headquartered Almac has added depots in Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan to its network, which it said will give customers flexibility in their clinical supply chains for trials conducted across the region.

In a press statement Mark Woolf, global depot manager for Almac’s Clinical Services business unit said:‘The latest depots are a very welcome addition to our network and have been strategically positioned in locations worldwide to ensure we can supply emerging markets with a consistent high level of service.’

The contract manufacturing organisation (CMO) also said it plans to add another five depots to its global 36-site strong network next year, but did not disclosed additional information.
