KPS and Y-Prime strike e-MVR development deal

Kellman Pharmaceutical Services (KPS) and trial management services firm Y-Prime have put pen to paper in a deal to develop a series of clinical electronic monitor visit reporting (e-MVR) tools.

The agreement will see Philadelphia, US-based Y-Prime produce a bespoke set of web-based tools which global contract research organisation (CRO) KPS says will enable it to offer clients a centralised management system for use across multiple studies. The products are planned for introduction later this year.

"Our new suite of web integrated clinical reporting tools incorporates decades of trial monitoring experience and metrics that KPS uses for monitoring visit reporting," said Y-Prime CEO Shawn Blackburn.

"We're building their best practices into a suite of tools that they will be able to offer their clients," he added, "[This] will leverage their expertise for our own product offerings as well."

And for New York-based KPS, which has worked closely with Y-Prime over recent months, it is hoped the latest alliance will prove fruitful.

"We're extremely excited about this collaboration," said KPS president David Kelly, "their products are used by major Pharma companies worldwide and it's a great validation of our distinct capabilities that they've selected us as a partner."

Quality improvements

KPS claims it's e-MVR tools will be simpler to use and offer more features at a lower cost than other systems, thus improving quality and reducing time lines to enable clients to meet more aggressive milestones than previously possible.

"We now offer e-MVR tools that our competition doesn’t have and we plan to work with Y-Prime to constantly enhance our products, leading to mutual growth," Kelly told Outsourcing-Pharma.com.

"We will also work together over the longer term to develop new products that will enhance our capabilities and customer partnerships."
