The companies say the aim of the partnership will offer clients a means of ensuring global regulatory compliance, and of guaranteeing that effective patient safety methodology is followed.
“We are extremely pleased to partner with Mene Research and are sure that our expertise and global presence will help us to further explore the emerging pharma markets,” said Prasanth Visweswaran, director of drug safety practice at US-based supply chain specialist Take Solutions.
“We will ensure that clients benefit from highly efficient, proactive and affordable solutions and services to meet global pharmacovigilance needs of sponsor companies, affiliates and agencies.
“Our engagement with Mene is evidence of Take Solutions’ comprehensive understanding of the business, the challenges and proven track record of providing intelligent and innovative drug safety operations and pharmacovigilance solutions”, he added.
The deal sees Take strengthen its drug safety and pharmacovigilance solutions offering – particularly in the Middle East where new partner Mene has a strong presence.
Government approval
Istanbul-based Mene is the first Turkish CRO (contract research organisation) to receive government approval after the introduction of new trial laws in 2009. The deal with Take represents a new avenue of global business opportunities for the company.
“When we started talks with Take Solutions our main criteria was an entity that offered pharmacovigilance solutions & services which was in compliance with applicable current regulatory and privacy directives and they fulfilled the same to the T,” said Sule Mene, CEO of Mene Research.
“Take has a deep understanding of how to translate customer’s drug safety requirements into specific process steps which ensure compliance and proactive analysis thereby improving patient safety. All these factors made us believe that they will be the most beneficial partners in our endeavour to provide pharma companies pharmacovigilance services globally,” Mene added.
Established in 2002, and located at the GOSB TechnoPark on the outskirts of Istanbul, Mene owes much of its success to a perceived set of unique circumstances in the country – namely high patient potential, highly qualified staff and low costs.
Meanwhile Take Solutions extended its drug safety and pharmacovigilance offerings recently with the launch of SafetyReady, a software package designed for users of the Oracle Argus Safety Suite.
