Round up of eClinical news

Round up of eClinical news
Outsourcing-Pharma.com presents a roundup of eClinical news, including developments at Parexel, Datatrak, and MedNet.

Parexel has officially introduced its MyTrials platform to integrate its eClinical offering. MyTrials gives users a single sign-on for multiple eClinical products offered by Parexel and Perceptive Informatics.

Independent systems are not necessarily compatible with each other, for example, forcing users to enter the same data multiple times. This disrupts optimal workflow and processes, resulting in an unintended loss of productivity,” Mark Goldberg, chief operating officer at Parexel, said.

Goldberg spoke to Outsourcing-Pharma.com at Partnerships in Clinical Trials 2011 and 2012 about the need to integrate the eClinical products offered by Perceptive. The introduction of MyTrials is part of this effort.

Users will have a single place to access a comprehensive suite of applications, tools, metrics and reports through full data integration and application convergence. They can expect to realise greater efficiency and conduct more effective trials,” Goldberg said.

CRO (contract research organisation) Pharm-Olam has signed a multi-year, multi-million dollar deal with Datatrak. The contract builds on a pre-existing relationship between the companies and will see Pharm-Olam license the use of uDesign, uIRT, uEDC and uTrain products from Datatrak.

The expansion of our partnership positions Pharm-Olam to offer sponsors more dynamic, integrated data solutions for full service and functional outsourcing,” John Hovre, chief operating officer at Pharm-Olam, said.

MedNet Solutions will show updates to its electronic data capture (EDC) system, iMedNet EDC, at the Drug Information Association (DIA) annual meeting in Pennsylvania, Philadelphia next week.

Our customers now have an easy-to-use means of uploading, viewing and managing their DICOM images,” Eric Peterson, vice president of research and development at MedNet Solutions, said.
