Marken recertified as C-TPAT compliant

Trial and sample logistics services firm Marken has been recertified by the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Marken has been certified as compliant with the country's customs-trade partnership against terrorism (C-TPAT), which means it meets with strict facility security, access controls, IT security, training, and threat awareness. The firm was first certified in 2008.

Robert Tungatt, VP of Marken's CORTEC group, said: “This certification validates the security of our global supply chain. We remain vigilant to new threats and risks as our service expands and develops.

"Utilizing new technologies, recognized best practices and compliance with national and international laws and regulations, we assure that our business partners continue to benefit from Marken’s C-TPAT membership and other Trusted Trader and Security programs.”

Marken -which is being sold by current owner private equity group Apax - joins Chicago-based Berlin Packaging - a supplier of plastic, glass, and metal containers and closures to the pharmaceutical industry - as the only other company to pubically disclose its C-TPAT compliance.
