The UK contract development and manufacturing organisation’s (CDMO) new technology consists of software that controls production and packing lines at its sites in Pianezza, Italy, Monheim, Germany and Queenborough, UK.
An Aesica spokesman told us it consists of an “ERPtrack and trace module that sends codes to the line and receives and manages warehouse and shipment aggregation process” and a Seavision aggregation system that receives that information.
The CDMO emphasized the system’s ability to serialize pharmaceutical products in compliance with differing regulations in key markets, including China and Korea which have both introduced new requirements in the past five years.
The spokesman said: “The software is flexible to cover whatever requirements are in place in the destination market.”
He added that the new technology allows Aesica to track shipments in transit.
