Tim Davis, Exco InTouch CEO told us the patent covers health and wellness programs delivering “condition-specific content and support to patients, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders in the healthcare industry.”
“The granting of this patent in the US underlines Exco InTouch’s leadership in the digital health field and our vision to utilize mobile and digital technology to help patients better manage their health,” he added.
When asked about any future patenting plans, Davis told us to “watch this space.”
As Outsourcing-Pharma.com previously reported, the company recently completed a HIPAA Privacy audit as it continues to prepare for impending data protection regulations.
The HIPAA rules establish a set of regulations from the US Department of Health & Human Services, which relate to any Protected Health Information (PHI) identifying a patient’s health or financial data stored on computer systems.
Exco InTouch has also formed a strategic partnership with Regulatory Strategies, a data protection and compliance consultancy, in response to upcoming reforms.
As part of its partnership with Regulatory Strategies earlier this year, Exco InTouch introduced a fully compliant regulatory officer function two years ahead of the General Data Protection Regulation’s (GDPR) deadline.
The reforms are expected to take effect in 2018 and are designed to strengthen data protection policies, procedures, systems, and control of UK and European organizations.
